Bolstering up the finance and operations team support

In a commitment to strengthening our finance and operations team, ScanTech Offshore is delighted to announce a range of new appointments based at our Great Yarmouth, UK.

Jasim Patel joined us in April 2022 and brings over 17 years’ of experience to his new role, having held a variety of accountant and project management positions within the energy services and non-profit sector. He is a qualified chartered management accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, as well as speaking four languages – English, Arabic, Gujarati, and Hindi.

As Financial Controller, Jasim will be responsible for establishing and managing the core finance functions, daily management of the finance support team, and ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate financial information to internal and external stakeholders including the control of monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.

Victoria Burden joined us in March 2022 as Finance Business Administrator and was recently promoted to Finance Assistant based on her contributions to the business so far. This appointment supports the input of operational transactions into the financial systems, maintaining the accounting records, performing appropriate reconciliations, support the production of monthly management reports and related administrative processes.

Victoria brings three years’ experience to her new role within the hospitality sector.

Cem Kizilcik, Finance Director adds “Jasim and Victoria are great additions to the finance team. I am very excited to work with them. They will accomplish amazing things at ScanTech.”

Qudsia Bullent joined in early July 2022 and brings a wealth of experience to her newly created role, having previously worked for over 13 years with fellow James Fisher group company, Fendercare. As Operations and Sales Administrator, she will work closely with the sales and operations departments. Delivering support to the operations department includes making travel and transport arrangements, processing of visas, data input, and cleansing for the operations team and completing purchase orders across the business.

Qudsia will also support the sales teams, including organizing and booking travel arrangements, maintaining stationery suppliers, assisting with the upkeep of the sales tracker, and distributing sales inquiries. In addition, she will assist the QHSE department with the administration of the IMS and compilation of critical HSE data to further strengthen our QHSE function.

Gavin Thompson joined us in June 2022 bringing with him a bachelor’s degree in BS Environmental Health and Safety, as well as expertise in chemical manufacturing and engineering sectors. As HSE Advisor, he is responsible for implementing our QHSE policy, procedures, and disciplines throughout our operations and maintaining an ethos of continuous improvement. Gavin will be supporting the team at the Great Yarmouth base, as we enter an exciting period of growth with the new store building being erected and the construction of 23 new 3100cfm ScanTech compressors to support the bubble curtain operations. He will also focus on safety improvements and supporting the QHSE Manager with day-to-day operations.

Gavin says, “I am extremely pleased to be joining a dynamic business and driving forward the already positive safety culture to new levels, drawing on my previous industry experience.”

Mike Brown, Operations Director adds, “It is a great position to be in to be adding to our team in a Great Yarmouth, UK facility further signifying growth within the organisation. The new team members will add strength and depth to our already high-performing team and will provide us with the platform to take the business forward in line with our strategic growth initiatives.”
