Can you tell us a bit more about yourself?

I’m originally from Italy, and I moved to Manchester in 2015, where I completed both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies.  I was awarded with a first-class with honours in BSc (Hons) Business and Tourism Management and successfully completed an MSc in International Business and Management.  Also, I completed the second year of my undergraduate studies in Finland by taking part in the Erasmus Exchange Program: A European funding programme that offers university students opportunities to study or work abroad. This experience enabled me to discover - from a personal point of view, is how cultural diversity can be rewarding, inspiring, and empowering both personally and professionally.

I joined the internship program with James Fisher and Sons in March 2021 as a business development intern where I focused on market research, competitor analysis and analytical reporting.

In my free time, I love travelling, doing sport, and hiking.

What brought you to ScanTech Offshore?

I had the opportunity to get to know this operating company, including its people and activities, during my internship within James Fisher’s group business development department, where I developed several projects for ScanTech Offshore. I’ve been fascinated with how they tackle specific environmental challenges with its services and solutions.

How have you found settling into the company / role?

As my previous role within the Business Development department of JF Group, I am working from home in Manchester and occasionally I will travel to Great Yarmouth head office. I’m still in an onboarding process phase, but I can say that people are exceptionally friendly and welcoming here.

What are you most looking forward to in your role with the company?

During my internship, I was able to enhance my analytical and market research skills. Similarly, in my new role I look forward to further refining my skills and carrying out projects more independently. Particularly, I look forward to learning more about Scantech Offshore’s business offering and the oil & gas industry overall.

Mike Aitken, Sales Director at ScanTech Offshore, shares his thoughts on gaining a new asset to the ScanTech team, “In a competitive market for hiring professionals, we were keen to emphasise our strength and progress in the renewables, oil and gas and well testing markets, Iris skills and talent in business analytics and market research will be a great addition to our company and, we warmly welcome Iris to the team.”
